Welcome to Logan Square
An artistic neighborhood with a vibrant culinary scene
One of Chicago’s biggest neighborhoods, Logan Square is also one of its most creative. Home to artists and musicians, as well as an incredible variety of trendy bistros and hip boutiques, this urban hot spot is known for artistic flair and an indie spirit. In the center of the community is a square of gorgeous green space designed by architects William Le Baron Jenney and Jans Jensen. This is also where you’ll find the stunning Illinois Centennial Monument, designed by the same architect who created Washington DC’s Lincoln Memorial.
Named for the American soldier and political leader, General John A. Logan, Logan Square is known today as the place to find the next coolest thing. Whether it's an up-and-coming artist, a hot new avant-garde designer, or an indie band, the atmosphere in this hip enclave is fresh, exciting, and creative. Just as beautiful as it is dynamic, Logan Square boasts wide, tree-lined boulevards, historic structures, and impressive architecture. An influx of new money residents in the 1880s and early 1900s brought new styles and unique architecture, as well as the practice of blending architectural styles, and today Logan Square offers a dazzling selection of everything from vintage walkups to new construction builds.

The artsy yet unpretentious gastropub Giant serves up seasonal New American plates and craft cocktails in a funky storefront, while Outside Voices offers a true wine bar vibe. Order from the extensive wine list, enjoy charcuterie boards and other nibbles, like beer cheese pretzels and wedge salads – you can even order a vegan cheese plate.
Eat, sleep, and enjoy whiskey at Longman and Eagle, a contemporary take on the traditional Chicago inn. Try flavorful creations like the butternut squash with chimichurri, and make sure to sample a whiskey cocktail or one of the whiskey flights.
Get a true taste of Logan Square’s artistic vibe at The Whistler. This trendy yet laid-back bar features award-winning cocktails and an eclectic mix of live music seven nights a week. Built in 1915, the Logan Square Auditorium is a historic ballroom venue that hosts live music, concerts, and festivals. This ornate spot is Logan Square’s go-to choice for special events. Its mission is to provide a platform for emerging, local, and national artists to showcase their talents and hosts monthly exhibits, community events, and mural projects. Take a stroll down Logan Boulevard, also known as the “boulevard of the millionaires.” This stunning spot offers a dazzling variety of turn-of-the-century mansions and beautiful architecture.
